Raphael + Rivki

I first met Raphael in NYC, right before I got engaged. He was writing speeches for Israel's Ambassador to the UN. He took me and my almost to be fiancé (his cousin:) out for dinner. During dinner we heard a song being played in the background and Raphael said ‘listen,  zaida loved that song׳. Zaida had passed on almost one year prior, though he wasn't any ordinary zaida. He was the rock of the family and his presence is still felt everywhere. Raphael was the one and only representative of Batsheva's extended family at our engagement party in NY.

I don't think he imagined that one year later, he would get down on one knee, in the most magnificent setting in Thailand and put a ring on Rivki.

The night of the engagement party was also the night of zaida's second yortzeit (his passing). The love and joy was palpable throughout the night.

A day in the life of....The Feiglins

There are some families you meet and you instantly know they are unique. You know at the same time that capturing their photos will be a unique experience. So where is the most fitting location.

Their home.

Their home is so welcoming, rich with warmth and spirit that every inch is enduring. If there is a corner where this is not felt, soon enough a cave will appear where stories are told and memories made.

I knew the Feiglins would want to take photos in their home, for their home is soon moving to a more unique setting.

It's sad to see such a special family move, but who can compete with Israel?

Tova + Avremy

My first wedding in Australia!

I flew to Sydney for it - so worth it!

I love a quick Sydney visit, especially when your hosts are as great as mine. It was definitely beach weather, not so much suit weather. But suits came in their droves, and they all got sweaty, breaking it down on the dance-floor.

I knew from the moment I met Tova + Avremy that this wedding would be a blast! Even Le Montage's Manager  said she's never had a wedding like it, I asked her 'surely you've had a Jewish wedding here before?' she said 'we have, but nothing like this one, there were 3 people on each others shoulders!'.

There were many magical moments captured,  for me watching Tova dance with her grandma, is something I wish I could have done at my wedding.

It was a real honour being there 'bottling up' these special moments with such special families.

Enjoy!

Roooooaaawr.....

Are you obsessed? I can think of one person who is. I don't think you can say you know what obsession is until you meet him.

Alfie.

Alfie is obsessed.

Alfie is obsessed with lions.

The lion king is an all time favorite. A lifelike stuffed lion goes with him all over the world. It doesn't stop there. He married Ariella which in hebrew means lioness.

Today is his one year anniversary since he married his lioness.

I had the pleasure of taking some photos on the day and a couple after and of course the obsession made the cut.

Philly in the fall

I love Philly. I love fall. I love Philly in the fall.

The city has so much character. The old brick buildings. The stone roads. The horse and carriages. The Eagles. South Street. The people.

Some of the loveliest people are in Philly. My brother and sister in law and their family for starters. They acquaint me with the Kahns. An energetic family with a palpable vibe! Have a peek below to see some of their awesomeness.

Believe it or not, its not always sunny in Philadelphia, but the Kahns keep it bright in the fall.
